Chlorine is a key element in the maintenance of your pool, and is one of the bases for proper water treatment, as well as being one of the most widely used disinfectants.
It is a highly sanitising chemical and is well applicable and very effective in eliminating pathogenic microorganisms. It can be easily measured and controlled using special kits.
How does chlorine sanitisation work?
Chlorine kills pathogens such as bacteria and viruses by breaking the chemical bonds of their molecules.
Products used for this purpose consist of chlorine compounds that can exchange atoms with other compounds, such as enzymes and bacteria. When the latter come into contact with chlorine, one or more atoms of the hydrogen molecules are replaced by the chlorine, resulting in the deformation or deterioration of the entire molecule. When enzymes do not function properly, bacteria die.
Here are our chlorine tablets for sanitising your pool.
Although chlorine helps to keep the pool free of bacteria, it can also cause eye or skin irritation.
The good news is that chlorine is not the only chemical that can keep pool water clean and safe.
We can use active oxygen and/or bromine products.
- Active oxygen is an excellent substitute and offers many advantages.
It develops a very fast and effective sanitisation, does not irritate the eyes and does not emit unpleasant odours.
The product we recommend is OXY NET 20, practical 20 g tablets ideal for small and medium-sized pools.
- Bromine sanitisation offers just as many advantages as it does not emit unpleasant odours, it develops a fast and effective disinfection even at high water temperatures and pH levels that are not perfectly in line with the ideal parameters (7.2 - 7.6) and it does not irritate the skin.
