Cleaning of whirlpool jets

To care for your hot tub, you will need to use certain products. For normal cleaning of air and water jets, normal household detergents are sufficient; for biofilm problems, special products must be used.

But let's get down to business.

CLEANING THE WATER JETS

  1. Fill the tub with hot water about 10 cm above the highest jets.
  2. Turn off the air induction valve so that only water flows through the pipes.
  3. Add detergent to the water. Use about 1/4 cup (50 ml) of a low-foaming surfactant as a powdered dishwasher detergent to the water.
ATTENTION: do not use acidic detergents because they remove the sealant on brass and tarnish it.
  4. It incorporates 1/2 cup (100 ml) of household bleach. Bleach is an excellent disinfectant. Some manufacturers do not recommend bleach because it may dry out the internal seals, so check with the manufacturer of the tub to see what they recommend for ongoing maintenance.
  5. Set the power of the jets to maximum pressure and leave them on for 10-15 minutes. Watch what happens to the water in the tub. It's working!
  6. Turn off the jets. Empty the tub and refill it with cold water up to the top of the jets.
  7. Start the jets again for another 10 minutes.
  8. Switch off and empty the tank. Clean it thoroughly.

CLEANING THE AIR JETS

  1. Fill the tank. Add hot water about 15 cm above the air injector holes.
  2. Add detergent to the water. The optimal amount is 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of dishwashing detergent.
  3. Incorporate 1/2 cup (100 ml) of household bleach. Some manufacturers do not recommend bleach because it may dry out the inner seals, so check with the manufacturer of your tub to see what they recommend.
  4. Turn on the tub and activate the blower for about 2 minutes to mix everything.
  5. Switch off the blower and leave the mixture to stand for about two hours.
  6. Switch the blower back on and leave it on for about 5 minutes.
  7. Switch the tank off again and empty it. Clean it.
  8. Now comes the most complex part. Fill the tub with hot water, dim the lights and turn on the music. Your tub is ready!
