Chromotherapy: water and colours

Chromotherapy: therapy using light waves of various colours, each of which is believed to have an associated effect.

WHAT IS IT?

Colour therapy, or chromotherapy, is an alternative medicine that acts as a support to basic medicine and is therefore defined as integrative therapy.
It originates from Egyptian and Roman cultures, which considered the sun's radiation to be a powerful antidepressant

Colour is energy and as such is absorbed by our bodies at various levels (physical, chemical, psychic) and channels. Our body's responses to these energetic stimuli have a specific physiological, motor and emotional character.
Chromotherapy is based on the absorption of colours using a variety of methods in order to modify mood and, consequently, health.

THE EMOTIONAL SHOWER

The emotional shower represents the fusion of the beneficial effect of water and colours.
It offers a pathway on a physical and emotional level that helps improve certain aspects of our existence.
Just as we perceive hot and cold sensations through touch, so our bodies perceive colours, which provide certain stimuli to our brains and organs.
The emotional shower should create a contrasting reaction on the body, a contrast due to the temperature of the water and the sensations suggested by the colours.

By combining water and colours in certain sequences, it is possible to create real pathways, which guide our feelings and our body towards relaxation or towards bursts of energy.

COLOURS

Colour therapy is a catalyst to stimulate the body's natural self-healing processes.
It is considered an effective healing method for depression, neurosis and anxiety, disorders for which the colours yellow, green and blue are used.

  • Orange. According to chromotherapy, it has a liberating action on physical and mental functions, it has a great effect of integration and distribution of energy; it induces serenity, enthusiasm, cheerfulness, will to live, optimism, positivity of feelings, healthy approach to work, physical and mental synergy.
  • Yellow. It is associated with the left side of the brain, the intellectual side, with stimulating effects and help in studying. It is considered protective and concrete, it is associated with happiness, wisdom and imagination, it generates good humour.
  • Green. It is the colour of harmony: it symbolises hope, balance, peace and renewal. It is a neutral, relaxing colour and encourages reflection, calm and concentration.
  • Blue. It is a calming and refreshing colour; it calms and moderates the mood and makes you forget everyday problems.

  • By combining water and colours in certain sequences, it is possible to create real pathways that guide our feelings and our bodies towards relaxation or towards bursts of energy.

A route regenerating can combine yellow and red, shading them slightly in between to give energy, and to finish a note of green to restore balance. The water combined with this path will cascade over the subject like the downpour of a summer shower.

A path marked by the relax and the meditation will start with blue, slowly fading into purple, and the water will cascade from the shower jet like a small waterfall. Vapourised or jetted water, essences and aromas, colours and sounds all contribute to creating a unique and impactful experience for the body.
